I love working with kids and art! My biggest dream is to be a museum educator, médiatrice culturelle, ou guide conférencier, in Paris.
I was born and raised in Virginia, and currently live in Connecticut. I work at the Yale University Art Gallery as the John Walsh Fellow in Museum Education, guiding visitors ages 2-102 in looking closely at art.
I went to Yale Divinity School for my master’s, studying religion & the arts, and to William & Mary for undergrad, studying art history and English literature. My research interests include material culture and theology of medieval birth (especially birth girdles!), medieval and contemporary textiles & fiber arts, and object-based pedagogies in- and outside of museum spaces.
I’m an artist and maker, working primarily in collage, weaving, and drawing. I’ve just learned how to spin yarn on a drop spindle, and I’m finally learning how to knit.
I have also been an eighth-grade history teacher, a nanny, a summer camp volunteer coordinator, and an art editor.
Career-wise, I love to be around art objects, write about them, talk about them, and look at them with other people— especially kids.
